Serving Our Members. Growing Our Game.
Who We Are
The Western Washington Chapter PGA represents more than 460 PGA Professionals and Associates serving over 160 facilities throughout Western Washington and Alaska. The Chapter supports its professionals through high-quality programs, tournament opportunities, mentorship, education, and member services. Together, we promote the game of golf and strengthen the golf community throughout our region.
Our territory extends from the Cascade Mountains to the Pacific Ocean and from southern Washington to the Canadian border, along with the state of Alaska. We are one of five Chapters within the Pacific Northwest Section PGA, whose territory spans Washington, Oregon, Alaska, northern Idaho, and western Montana.
Your Partners in the Game of Golf
PGA Professionals help people learn, enjoy, and stay connected to the game. Through education, training, and hands-on experience, they develop expertise in teaching, player development, and golf operations—creating welcoming places to play and opportunities to improve.
For new golfers, a PGA Professional provides a welcoming introduction to a game that can feel intimidating. From learning the basics and choosing equipment to understanding etiquette and feeling comfortable on the course, their guidance helps beginners build confidence and enjoy getting started.
For established golfers, PGA Professionals offer personalized coaching, practice plans, club fitting, and course management advice to help players reach their goals. Whether you want to lower your handicap, prepare for competition, or simply enjoy your next round more, a PGA Professional can help you move forward.
Our PGA of America Members and Associates primarily serve as club and teaching professionals, coaches, and facility leaders. Their work differs from that of PGA TOUR competitors: they focus on helping others experience the game. Beyond instruction, they lead golf operations, organize playing opportunities, support junior programs, and bring people together through golf.
Supporting Our Professionals
The Chapter provides competitive playing opportunities, continuing education, career development, mentorship, and a network of professional support. From our Pro-Am series and Chapter Championships to Associate education grants and leadership programs, we help our Members and Associates succeed throughout their careers.
We also support the next generation of PGA Professionals by providing opportunities to learn, build relationships, and develop the skills needed to lead within the golf industry.
Growing the Game. Serving Our Communities.
Our impact extends beyond the golf course. Through junior golf, PGA Jr. League, charitable events, and community outreach, our professionals introduce new players to golf and use the game to make a difference.
Working alongside our facilities, amateur players, volunteers, and Chapter partners, we strengthen the connections between golf and the communities we serve.

Western Washington Chapter History
The Western Washington Chapter PGA carries forward a longstanding tradition of professional leadership and service to Northwest golf. That regional legacy includes Seattle Golf Club professional Robert Johnstone, who helped establish the Pacific Northwest Section PGA in 1922 and served as its first president. Over the decades, generations of Chapter professionals have brought golfers together through tournament competition, education, mentorship, and community involvement. Their dedication helped build the Chapter’s enduring commitment to supporting golf professionals and growing the game—a tradition our Members and Associates continue throughout Western Washington and Alaska today.
