For over three decades, golf has been Conner Robbins’ life, classroom, and home. Growing up alongside the fairways of Kitsap G&CC — where his mom still lives on the 9th hole — Conner learned the game from the ground up, working everything from outside services and the pro shop to now teaching the game he loves at 46.
Through every stop, one thing remained constant: the remarkable PGA Members he looked up to. He watched them grab bags off golfers’ shoulders, pick up trash when no one was looking, and walk the range just to say hello. Conner took every one of those lessons with him — to Trophy Lake, Washington National, PGA West, and Seattle Golf Club, where he learned from legends like Doug Doxsie.
Nine years ago, Conner joined the PGA of America — a decision he says he should have made much sooner. With guidance from PGA Members Bart Turchin and Dave Wetli, he built his teaching career at North Shore GC (now known as Cedar Irons) and Meadow Park GC. His coaching style is shaped by legends like swing coach Kenny Kubitz, Carl Welty of the Jim McLean School, and Hall of Fame UW coaches OD Vincent III and Matt Thurmond.
Five years ago, Conner became Head Golf Coach at the University of Puget Sound — the thrill of a lifetime. More than a golf coach, he mentors young student-athletes through one of life’s biggest transitions. He’s still grabbing bags, picking up trash, and being the first face golfers see at the course. Conner Robbins is a proud PGA Member, a dedicated coach, and a true servant of the game. He is, without question, “Living the Dream.”
