The Western Washington PGA Special Awards honor our regional PGA Members who exemplify excellence in their profession across nine distinct categories. Since Members cannot nominate themselves, we invite you to recognize your talented peers by nominating those who go above and beyond to make our Chapter exceptional. Your nominations, whether for one or multiple awards, play a crucial role in acknowledging the outstanding contributions our PGA Professionals make within our industry and communities.

Assistant Golf Professional of the Year
Bestows special recognition on a PGA Golf Professional, whose total contributions to the game of golf and their facility best exemplify the complete Assistant Golf Professional.
Bill Strausbaugh Award
Recognizes commitment to mentoring and making significant impacts on the careers of PGA Professionals.
Golf Professional of the Year
One of the highest honors The PGA can bestow, bestows special recognition on a PGA Golf Professional who has performed outstanding services as an overall PGA Professional.
PGA Professional Development Award
Recognizes outstanding and continuing contributions to professional education.
Merchandiser of the Year
Recognizes overall performance in merchandising in 3 categories (Private, Public, Resort).
Patriot Award
Recognizes commitment and dedication to members and veterans of the US Armed Forces.
Player Development Award
Recognizes achievement in player development.
Teacher of the Year
Recognizes outstanding services as a golf teacher and coach.
Youth Player Development Award
Recognizes achievement in youth player development.
Nominations are submitted online through the Section, and from there, our Chapter Awards Committee works diligently to thoroughly review each candidate’s body of work and identify the award recipient in each category. Chapter award winners become candidates for Section awards, and Section award winners become candidates for National awards.
Please note that only PGA Members in good standing are eligible for these prestigious awards, and eligibility will be verified through the Section. Please take a moment to reflect on the remarkable performances of your peers throughout this season!
